Are you as smart as a preschooler? Part 1
I found this while trying to find a different "quiz," and I thought I would share. According to something I read online, 90% of preschoolers got this question right.
What direction is this school bus moving in? (Scroll down for answer.)
The school bus is moving to the left, because you can't see the door.
Did you get it right? Unfortunately I didn't get a chance, as I saw the answer before I saw the picture :( :(

Time is Like an Illusion...
Well. This blog has been going nowhere for the past few weeks. Sorry about that. I was rather busy for about 2 weeks, preparing for the Future City regional competition. My team just missed out on going to nationals, which means that we're finally DONE. Since then, I've been busy getting my life back in order, and sleeping :) Starting NOW, expect many, many more posts than there ever have been. I will be posting at least three times a week, on various topics. I doubt that I have enough ideas to write intelligent, interesting, useful posts that often, so some of them will likely be rather goofy. If you have any post ideas, feel free to suggest them, or better yet, write them yourself! You can email me anything that you would like posted at homeschoolsara@gmail.com, or ask to become an author so you can post by yourself! If you have ideas, you can email them or leave them in the comments (any post is fine, I'll see it).
To start off this new three-posts-a-week idea, here's a poem I wrote a few years ago. It's called Time is Like an Illusion... (hence the title of this post).
To start off this new three-posts-a-week idea, here's a poem I wrote a few years ago. It's called Time is Like an Illusion... (hence the title of this post).
Time is like an illusion...
Time never stops.
Time keeps on going,
Like a river flowing by.
You try to capture it,
Try to hold it in your hands.
But like holding water,
It just slips through.
Time is like an illusion…
Doesn’t slow down,
Doesn’t speed up.
Sometimes it feels like it does,
But it’s not true.
It’s just an illusion.
Time is like an illusion…
Milliseconds, seconds,
Minutes, hours,
Days, weeks,
Months, years.
Those are not real.
Just made up by us,
To try to harness time.
It doesn’t work.
It’s just a well formed illusion.
Time is like an illusion…
Because you can’t always tell what it is.
Real time is nature time.
The season, the moon, the waves.
And real time is life.
Friends, family,
Love, anger,
Birth, death.
Those things aren’t illusions.
But time is.
Time is like an illusion…
Because it wont stand still for us to see what it is.
Time. Illusions. Live your life. Time won't wait.
What does your life hold? No one knows.
Only time…
will tell.

New Year Resolutions
First of all, happy new year! I hope that everyone had a great 2009, and will have an even better 2010!
This morning as I was sitting in bed I realized that I hadn't made any new year resolutions yet. So I wrote down a bunch, and here they are...
One: Spend less time doing useless stuff on the computer.
Two: Get at least 5 new authors for the TLC blog.
Yes, that means you. Since you're reading this, I'm going to assume that you're a teen in TLCI, and I want you to become an author. If you're interested, email me at homeschoolsara@gmail.com and I'll get you started. (BTW, you don't need a blogger account to become an author. If you email me your posts I'll post them for you.)
Three: Publish Spirit of the Moon at least 4 times.
Spirit of the Moon is an e-zine for girls that I'm starting with my sister, and I really want it to work out.
Four: Solve and write proofs to all of the MathPath problems and at least half of the MathCamp problems on their qualifying tests for the 2010 camp.
Five: Learn a kickover, and make it consistent.
A kickover is a gymnastics skill that I've been struggling with for about 4 or 5 years. I've been really really close to doing it for about 3 years, and I really want to finally learn it! (Yes, I know that a kickover is a really "easy" skill to take so long to learn, but there's a reason why I'm not in this for medals :-) )
Six: Finish the novel-length version of Cinderella that I'm writing, including editing.
Seven: Complete and feel comfortable with the material in chapter 1 (and hopefully more) of the Rosetta Stone Hebrew software.
Eight: Keep my room organized.
I could start by cleaning it :)
Nine: Stretch for at least 5 minutes every day.
I started stretching regularly so that my gymnastics would get better, but it also just helps me feel better (If you've ever been to a really good yoga class you know what I mean). I haven't really been doing it much lately, and I'd like to change that. I normally stretch for more than 5 minutes, but I figured there's a better chance that it will happen if it doesn't take much time :)
That's all from me, but what are your new year resolutions? Share and discuss in the comments!
And just wondering, is there any difference between a resolution and a goal? Or does resolution just sound better?
